Pleasant Hill Students is a ministry based off of Acts 2:42-47.
  1. They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship-  The disciples were commanded to preach the gospel. This early group of believers saw the importance of listening to these wise men that walked with God. This student ministry will be driven by prayer and the word of God. v.42
  1. All who believed were together and had all things in common.– This first group of Christians realized the importance of unity and oneness. This showed heart change within them. They saw the needs of others more important than their needs. My expectation is that our students, leaders, and myself will put others people and their needs before ours. v.44
  1. And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes– The early disciples of the first church knew it was not only important to attend church but have fellowship by breaking bread. The act of breaking bread can be seen as remembering what God did by sending His Son to die on the cross for our sins. Also, breaking bread is a term for fellowship. Youth ministry is supposed to be fun. These are the most influential years in your teenage life. Fellowship allows Christians to remember what God has done for us and allow our leaders and students to build relationships that go deeper than Sunday.  v.46
  1. praising God and having favor with all the people.-  There are two actions that encompass what it means to be a Christian. Love God and Love people. I want our students to represent their God well and this church well. Through their actions, speech, mind set and attitude. V.47
As your students attend our student ministry, we hope and pray these actions would be shown by them!
